Reserved Matters Approval Granted for 43 New Homes in Queen Camel, Somerset

We’re delighted to announce that Ashford Homes has received approval of reserved matters for our latest development in Queen Camel, Somerset.

This exciting new build scheme will deliver 43 thoughtfully designed homes, offering a carefully balanced mix of market homes, including five bungalows, and affordable housing set within a beautifully landscaped environment that reflects the village’s distinctive rural character. The plans feature a central public open space, extensive natural landscaping, and allotments accessible to both new and existing residents, achieving an impressive 27.85% biodiversity net gain through multifunctional green infrastructure.

We were pleased to work collaboratively with Queen Camel Parish Council and the planning officer at Somerset Council, whose engaged and proactive approach helped secure a timely reserved matters decision within six months of the outline planning permission being issued.

New Homes – Construction is anticipated to begin in early 2026.

Tom Griffiths, Development Director at Ashford Homes, said: “We are delighted to have received approval for this thoughtfully designed scheme in Queen Camel. Our vision is to create a development that integrates seamlessly with the village’s charm and character while delivering high-quality homes, significant enhancements for biodiversity, and green spaces for future residents and the existing community alike. We’re excited to bring this project forward and to contribute positively to the local area, including securing over £500k of CIL and S106 contributions to improve the local primary school, play equipment and local youth facilities.”
