Buying Process

We are with you every step of the way

The process of buying a new home should be exciting, enjoyable and as stress free as possible. We have created the guide below of what to expect when buying your new home with us.

Step 1. Reservation

You have found your dream home with us and got your finances in order. At this stage our agents will run through all the reservation paperwork with you covering details such as, plot specific information, anticipated completion dates and your cancellation rights. When you are happy to proceed, you will pay a reservation fee which forms part of your deposit and appoint a solicitor.

Step 2: Personal touches

Depending on the stage of construction, we will meet to discuss any features and options you’d like to personalise your new home. We offer a range of options including kitchen worktops, bathroom tiles, audio visual options, carpet choices and more.


Step 3: Communication

We will keep you regularly updated throughout the building process, answering any questions you may have. If there are any changes to the completion date, you will be informed without delay.

Step 4: Site visits

You are welcome to visit your new home during the construction/buying process. All site visits must be arranged in advance with our sales team.

Step 5: Exchange, pre-handover inspection and demonstration

Once contracts have been exchanged, completion will take place approximately four weeks later.

One week before handover, a member of our customer care team will meet you at your new home to inspect the quality and answer any questions you may have. They will also demonstrate how everything works including heating, kitchen appliances and sound systems.

Step 6: Completion and handover

It’s the day you’ve been waiting for! We will take final meter readings, run through any requested demonstrations again and answer any questions. Upon legal completion we will hand over the keys to your new home and leave you to settle in.

Step 7: Aftercare

At Ashford Homes we are extremely proud of our reputation and strive to deliver an exemplary service to you during and after the purchase of your new home. You can take comfort from the fact that we are a local company, which means that we are easily accessible for any help that may be required.

We endeavour to ensure that your home is completed to our exacting standards from the moment you take ownership and are proud to offer a comprehensive and efficient two year aftercare service that covers your house purchase in addition to your LABC warranty.
