Ashford Homes secures approval for Reserved Matters application to develop 31 new homes in sought after village

Ashford Homes is thrilled to announce the successful approval of our Reserved Matters application, allowing us to proceed with the construction of 31 new homes in Bratton. The development will feature a diverse range of house types with accommodation ranging from one to four bedrooms.

The scheme is designed to cater to a variety of needs, offering five shared ownership properties, seven homes for affordable rent, and 19 open market plots.

Tom Griffiths, Development Director of Ashford Homes said, “We are delighted to secure reserved matters on this site on our doorstep in Wiltshire. The outcome is testament to the skill and dedication of our local design team, and we look forward to delivering a diverse mix of high quality homes across the development. All properties will benefit from the usual high-end Ashford specification and efficient building fabric, complemented by the use of air source heat pumps and the provision of EV charging facilities. The scheme will also deliver biodiversity net gain by creating ecological buffer zones, wildflower meadows and utilising sustainable drainage techniques. The detailed design process is now firmly underway and we look forward to making a start on site in the spring.”

Bratton is a highly desirable and picturesque village in Wiltshire, located a mere 10 miles from the vibrant town of Devizes, twenty miles from the historic city of Salisbury and the Roman City of Bath. Nestled amidst picturesque landscapes, this highly sought-after village offers a thriving community with a wealth of clubs, societies, and social groups. At the heart of Bratton residents will find an array of amenities, including The Duke public house, a village store and Post Office, Bratton Community Primary School, a Doctor’s Surgery, and a delightful village green featuring a play park for children, along with three halls (Jubilee Hall, Pavilion and the Church Institute) all regularly used for activities, fundraising events as well as talks and private functions.

Work is scheduled to commence on site in spring.
