Ashford Homes announces new development at Hollybush Farm, Acton Turville

Ashford Homes is thrilled to announce the acquisition of land with full planning permission, including listed building consent, for the creation of 17 homes in the charming village of Acton Turville, part of the prestigious Badminton Estate.
The development at Hollybush Farm represents a carefully designed transformation of a historic site, blending the preservation of its agricultural heritage with the addition of thoughtfully crafted new homes. Spanning 1.25 hectares of mixed agricultural land, the site lies on the southern edge of Acton Turville, within the village’s Conservation Area. With Littleton Drew Road to the north, Burton Road to the west, and landmarks like Trinity Primary School nearby, the project is set to integrate seamlessly into this picturesque Cotswold village.
New Development
This sensitive project centres on the conversion of existing farm buildings, including the restoration of a listed barn that serves as the focal point of the site. A total of 17 homes will be introduced: 9 converted from existing barns, retaining their historic agricultural character, and 8 new-build properties designed to complement the rural aesthetic. The new-build homes will include a mix of terraced cottages, semi-detached homes, and barn-style dwellings, arranged to foster a strong connection with the existing village fabric. Updates to the site layout and access, informed by community and planning feedback, ensure that the development respects and enhances the historic charm of Hollybush Farm.
New Homes in Wiltshire
Stuart Morgan, Managing Director of Ashford Homes, shared his enthusiasm, “We are extremely excited to have completed the purchase of this fabulous site in the elegant village of Acton Turville. We are smitten with the eclectic mix of conversions and new builds that will bring new life to the community. Thanks go to Ed Bird of Knight Frank and BLB solicitors for enabling us to exchange contracts in just three weeks from receipt of Heads of Terms—well done to all involved.”
Work is scheduled to commence in spring 2025, register your interest on this exciting development here.
