Ashford Homes raises £1,129 at the Bath Half Marathon for Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity

We’re thrilled to share that the Ashford Homes team successfully completed the Bath Half Marathon on Sunday (16th March), raising an incredible £1,129 for the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity!

About the charity

Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity is a dedicated helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) providing critical care across Wiltshire, Bath, and surrounding areas. Established in 1990, the charity has evolved into an independent entity, relying entirely on public donations to fund its lifesaving operations.

Operating up to 19 hours daily, the charity’s highly skilled team of pilots, paramedics, and doctors respond swiftly to emergencies by air and road. In 2024, they attended a record 1,343 missions, averaging four incidents per day. These missions encompassed cardiac emergencies, road traffic collisions, medical incidents, and more, with 32% occurring at night and 182 involving children.

Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance

As a registered charity, Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance receives no government funding, relying entirely on voluntary donations and support from local communities. In the year ending October 2023, the charity’s income was £8.9 million, with £3.7 million spent directly on delivering the service.

In late 2024, the charity rebranded to include Bath in its name, reflecting its commitment to serving both Wiltshire and Bath regions. This change underscores the charity’s dedication to providing critical care to a broader community.
